Find Your Skill Level
Our small-group instruction ensures every skater is paired with riders of similar ability:
- Level 1 - Brand New: Literally zero experience. Learning to stand and push.
- Level 2 - Beginner: Can ride at home, but new to navigating a professional park flow.
- Level 3 - Intermediate: 100% in control; ready to master park etiquette and obstacles.
- Level 4 - Advanced: Perfecting technical tricks and dropping in on major ramp & more
Is your child under 8? If they can handle 3 hours of group activity, they are welcome! If you’re unsure, we recommend a 1-on-1 private lesson to test the waters before committing to camp.
The 3rd Lair Training Advantage
We don't just hire skaters; we train mentors. Every instructor completes 10+ hours of specialized training in teaching methodologies, youth engagement, and concussion safety. Many of our current coaches were 3rd Lair campers themselves!
Gear & Safety Requirements
- Pro-Grade Skateboard: Please bring a real, functioning skateboard. We strongly discourage "big box" store or Amazon boards, as they often don't roll or turn, which can hurt a child's confidence.
- Mandatory Safety Gear: Helmets are required. Full pads (knees, elbows, wrist guards) are highly recommended for faster progression and fewer scrapes.
- Attire: Closed-toe athletic shoes (required) and tall socks or pants.
- Hydration: Bring a refillable water bottle—it gets warm in the park!
